Longford Library Book Club
Longford Library Book Club next meets on the last Wednesday of each month in Library Headquarters at 8.00pm. These monthly meetings function as a social and cultural event as they give those who enjoy reading an opportunity to come together to talk about books. The books are chosen in advance by the group and include fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays. Literary outings and author visits also form part of the book club agenda. Members with a creative streak are encouraged to write a review of the book of the month for the local creative writing website www.virtualwriter.net. The vibrancy of the book club stands as testimony to the fact that the gentle art of reading is still alive and flourishing in Longford. New members always welcome.
