Longford Lights

Get through the dark evenings with Longford Lights which is back and bigger than ever! Returning to Connolly Barrack, this year's festival is expanded to take place over three evenings from Friday, 23 to Sunday, 25 February.

Experience magical colour and light with an immersive experience into a world built by artists and the local community. Centred around the theme of 'belonging', Longford Lights 2024 is made for and by the people - and we invite you to come along!

Longford Lights is a partnership between Longford County Council and Mide Arts Group. Funding support is provided by the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland, and Fáilte Ireland.

A new artistic direction

New Longford Lights Artistic Director Caroline Conway will lead the creative vision for the festival. Caroline work focuses on light-based installations, particularly video mapped projections. Longford audiences are familiar with enjoying her work, including her recent work as part of the Project Us event held in Connolly Barracks last November. Community and the arts

Community and artistic spirit comes together for Longford Lights, with hundreds of people from the local community working alongside national and international artists. It is both grassroots in its creation and ambitious in its vision. The building of the festival creates spaces for artistic learning within the community and among artists. It creates a buzz of activity, a new way to see Longford Town and many new opportunities for local artists.

Over 11,000 people came to see the spectacle in 2023, we cannot wait to see even more of you enjoying this year's festivities!
