Longford Libraries Art Competition 2025
Longford Libraries Art Competition 2025
Theme: “Reading Takes You Places”
Longford Libraries is delighted to announce the launch of the Longford Libraries Art Competition 2025, proudly supported by Creative Ireland as part of this year’s Children’s Book Festival.
The competition invites secondary school students across County Longford to showcase their creativity through the artistic theme “Reading Takes You Places.” This theme celebrates the limitless journeys that books can inspire, across time, place, imagination, and emotion.
A panel from the Longford Cultural Team will select the winning artworks. These will be published in the official Longford Libraries 2026 Calendar, which will be freely available in all six Longford libraries. In addition, each winning artist will receive a €50 prize.
The competition aims to capture and celebrate the talent of young local artists, providing them with a platform to share their work with the wider community.
