Culture Night Small Grants Programme

Longford County Council is making a small grant programme available to those interested in organising Culture Night 2025 event in County Longford.

What are we looking for?

Who can apply for funding and what is funded: artists, creatives, not-for-profit organisations, local community groups, arts, heritage and cultural groups, venues, and/or societies based in County Longford can apply for a grant to support a Culture Night event. The grant may cover costs, such as venue rental, publicity, artists and materials.

What type of events and activities: those that celebrate the value that art, culture and creativity bring to our lives and provide a platform and exposure for cultural organisations, activities, facilities and community groups. This could include keeping a venue or organisation open which may otherwise have been closed at that time of day. It may also include creating an event that reminds us all about the fantastic local cultural facilities and resources that we can experience year-round.

Event areas of particular interest include:

  1. Heritage events promoting County Longford's natural, built and cultural heritage
  2. Events celebrating new communities and underrepresented voices, including those which connect artists from marginalised backgrounds and showcase County Longford's culturally diverse communities including asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, D/deaf culture or arts and disability, Irish Traveller culture, events promoting gender equality, and under-represented groups
  3. Events organised by or in collaboration with young people
