Lanesboro Library

Opened on Main Street in 1997, Lanesboro Library welcomes members with an extensive collection of books for children, young adults and adults. There is free WIFI, public PCs with access to the Microsoft Suite of programmes to assist in work or study. Lanesboro Library is also a My Open Library, allowing the library to offer extended opening hours for My Open Library members. Members can access the library from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week, year-round with regular staffed hours continuing the normal opening schedule to ensure optimum service delivery. Lanesboro Library also offers eduroam. This is a WI-FI service which enables students, researchers and employees from participating institutions to securely access the internet at their college or university and whilst visiting other participating institutions.

The library's online resources, such as BorrowBox, Libby, Lote4Kids, PressReader and Universal Class can be accessed in the library as well as at home.

As with all Longford Libraries, Lanesboro also offers access to many online resources, including the Ordnance Survey Maps Online, Griffiths Valuation, 1901 and 1911 Census Online.

Lanesboro Library hosts a Library Book Club for adults which meets on the first Monday of each month from 11am to 12pm. New members are always welcome.
The Knitting and Crochet Club meet every Tuesday from 2-4pm
The Poetry and Music Circle meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 4-5:30pm
