Situated in the N.W. of the parish. Is bounded on the N.E. by Pallasbeg Td.; S.E. by Rath Td.; S.W. by Newcastle Td.; and N.W. by the tds. of Cloonkeen and Cloonard in Taghshinny Ph. and by Cloonkeen Td. in Shrule Ph.
This td. belongs to R. Edgeworth, Esq., and is held by a deed for ever. It contains 301a. 1r. 25p., about 16 of which is bog; the remainder is well cultivated. Houses and lands are in good repair. It was in this townland that the poet Oliver Goldsmith was born. It pays �17 10s. County Cess.
